Wastewater

Wastewater is remediated as part of a large-scale approach. This wastewater is originated by the industry in general or more concretely by the shipping industry. The wastewater from the industry in general is primarily released during production processes and cleaning activities. The wastewater from the shipping industry consists of bilge water and flush water from tanks and pipes.

At ATM, all wastewater is remediated biologically and, once approved, is discharged into the sewer belonging to the higher water board. Before the water ends up back in the environment, the higher water board carries out one final purification step in its waste water depuration plant.
